Lionel 464 Vintage O Operating Sawmill/Lumber Mill VG/Box

This is a Lionel 464 Vintage O Operating Sawmill / Lumber Mill from 1956-60. This accessory carried the operation into the next phase, converting logs into dressed lumber. The lumber mill relied more heavily on illusion & suspension of disbelief than any of the other industrial accessories. Logs deposited on one end of the platform, either by dump car or by hand, would be pushed into the sawmill building at center stage. Finished boards would emerge from the other end. The dressed boards had to be loaded into the building ahead of time. Logs entering the building would drop off a transparent conveyor belt, while at the same time, the boards would be picked up by it and pushed out the other side, where they were stacked up (sort of) by gravity. A really neat effect. It measures about 2 feet long.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. This sawmill shows a considerable amount of scratches and scuffs throughout various sections of the base and body. The back section of the sawmill is pushed inwards. There is heavy rust along the bottom of the base & along the terminals. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is included. The box has edge wear, stains, creases and tears. Please check the photos for a detailed look at this item.
