This is a Lionel 6-12713 Operating Automatic Illuminated Gateman from 1987-96. When a train approaches the gateman emerges from his shanty to warn motorists of the oncoming train. It uses a contactor but will also work with an insulated track section, which is sold separately. It comes fully assembled and ready to go. It measures 7 inches x 5 3/4 inches x 4 3/4 inches.
